Love your skin this winter

Winter is perfect for hot tea, fireplaces and beautiful (sustainable) long coats. One thing it is not good for, is our skin. It’s usually hidden under our many layers, but it’s really important to get naked and give it some love and attention.

So we’ve put together a full body romance for you to celebrate your skin from head to toe, using only products that are as natural as the birds and the bees.

Step 1: Get ‘Butt Naked’! Then slide into the warm shower to pre-soak before we begin.

Step 2: Take a handful or two of a body scrub and apply it in a circular motion, we used Butt Naked’s Himalayan and Lavender scrub and bath salt. The lavender scent sets the mood of surrendering into relaxation. Alternatively, you could also run a bath and let the bath salts soak into your body, add a candle for full effect.

Step 3: Rinse your body, and if you’re like me, take a little longer to get out of the hot shower, pure heaven.

Step 4: Once you’re dry and warm, take out your body oil (we used Butt Naked’s Tickled Pink Rose Body Oil) and start to massage your entire body, you will feel how smooth your skin is from the scrub as it drinks up the sweet rose oil. Use this time to practice self love, put your favourite song on, think of all the things your grateful for or just give yourself some time and space as you mindfully tune into your body.

Step 5: Now it’s time to go from naked to cosy, while we focus on some love for your face. Find a ceramic or wooden bowl, and let’s start mixing up a clay mask concoction. We used Butt Naked’s Hemp Hydrate Clay Mask, combine 2 teaspoons of the clay and 2 teaspoons of water, simple. You could also add a little drop of the rose oil to seal the deal. Mix well until the consistency is a paste.

Step 6: Apply to your face for 10 to 15 minutes until the mask is dry. While the clay is working its wonders, there’s all the time in the world to read that book you’ve been wanting to read, does it get any better?

Step 7: Wash that hydrated face of yours with warm water to remove the mask and follow up with some more of that rose oil, so we can go the final step of transforming that winter skin into glowing skin.

Step 8: Last but not least, let’s not forget about those lips, winter isn’t kind to this part so we need to take some extra care of them. Let’s start with a scrub, a Chai lip scrub to be precise from Butt Naked. Take a small amount onto your finger and rub on your lips in a mini circular motion, removing any dry skin that’s in the way. After 30 seconds, wash, lick or seal the most luxurious treatment off with a kiss. We like to finish off with a Morrocan Mint lip balm, but who wouldn’t.

What we love the most about this full body pampering is that at each step of the way, the ingredients are clean, vegan and natural, so we can sit back and relax and know our now smooth bodies are in great hands.
