Why should I switch to a reusable water bottle?
On average, Australians purchased 33.3L of bottle water per person in 2018. At an average price of $1.8 per litre, Australians are spending $60 per year on what is essentially a free resource. While a good quality water bottle is certainly an investment, through regular use it will save you money in the long run.
In addition to the expense of bottled water, disposable plastic water bottles break up into small fragments over time. These fragments find their way into our waterways, contaminate our soil and are ingested by animals.
And it's not just animals affected by ingesting plastic. If you would like to learn more about the harmful effects on our health of the plastic additives leaching out of single-use plastic items such as disposable water bottles, read our blog post here.
